Almost there… Linear side chairs – a pair

A tricky tricky pair of chairs that definitely needed some TLC…

Una coppia di sedie con un grande bisogno di aiuto…

Stage one: the chairs were stripped down, disassembled and sanded — le sedie sono state messe a nudo, smontate e scartavetrate

Stage two: they were glued back together — poi sono state incollate

Stage three: the chairs got a new color… — le sedie laccate di nero…

Work-in-progress update on the pair of linear side chairs

I mentioned in my earlier post that this cute pair of side chairs were nasty and I was not exaggerating. It took forever to remove the old fabric, stuffing and springs. Glue was used everywhere there was exposed wood and some joints were literally screwed together (that hurts!). There was no other choice than to completely disassemble them and glue them back together: four photos to describe the work-in-progress!!

Linear side chairs – a pair

My latest project….a very cute pair of linear side chairs

I just started working on them and the degree of nastiness of each and every chair is determined by the fact that I do or do not wear one of these

Il mio ultimo progetto: coppia di sedie a pozzetto….ho dovuto perfino indossare una maschera mentre toglievo il vecchio tessuto, le cinghie e le molle arrugginite….. DAVVERO ALLUCINANTE!
